Sustainability

We believe in making it easier for organizations to work and grow on an international scale.

Industries need to better understand how to respond to environmental issues.

Whether in the business world, in diplomacy between countries or in routine at home, different attitudes can transform people’s relationship with the world and reduce their impacts on the planet – without sacrificing development or the comforts of modern life.

Sustainability and Environment

As part of the company’s strategic planning, in 2016 uConnect Telecom® implemented sustainable measures for the correct separation of recyclable materials, correctly disposing of them at the local association of recyclable materials, responsible for the segregation and disposal of waste, contributing to the preservation of the environment and generating work and income for the families involved in projects like this.

Health & Safety

Safety is one of the highest priorities within uConnect Telecom®. It is imperative that everyone follows the policies and guidelines to ensure their own safety and the safety of others around them. To ensure the greatest possible protection for employees in the workplace, the cooperative efforts of both employer and employees help in establishing and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

The project’s mission is to develop new social and promotion opportunities by fostering entrepreneurial initiatives, enabling the emergence, training and formalization of local entrepreneurs to be inserted in the value chain of the Oil and Gas sector. In 2016, we received the “Sustainable Enterprise” seal from the Shell Initiative Entrepreneur program after having demonstrated the sustainability and viability of our business.

Corporate sustainability starts with a company’s value system and a principles-based approach to doing business. This means operating in ways that, at a minimum, meet fundamental responsibilities in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. Responsible businesses like uConnect Telecom® enact the same values and principles wherever they have a presence, and know that good practices in one area do not offset harm in another. By incorporating the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact into strategies, policies and procedures, and establishing a culture of integrity, companies are not only upholding their basic responsibilities for people and the planet, but also setting the stage for long-term success.

The Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact are derived from: the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Labour Organization’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development, and the United Nations Convention Against Corruption.
